Bamboo flooring is an absolutely gorgeous and unique alternative to a hardwood floor, giving an interesting feeling to the floor for modern, spacially aware kitchens. Even though this widely celebrated type of flooring is sourced from undoubtedly strong and light bamboo plants, scuff marks and surface scratches may still present themselves over time.
However, professional maintenance workers and homeowners with reasonable do-it-yourself skills can fire up the sander to undergo the process of refinishing bamboo floors. Now while a polyurethane finish is applied to clean bamboo flooring much like how you’d cover other flooring types, there are a few extra steps you don’t want to skip, and additional equipment required to complete the repairs in time.
Rent what you don’t have from the tool store.
Sand the floor using the 36 grit sandpaper diagonally, moving from grain to grain.
Sand the floor using the 80 grit sandpaper straight. Change the sandpaper often.
Sand along the wall using the 2” Scraper
Apply three coats of urethane finish
Also, incorporate the dust stack as either a hose for a vacuum or a cuffed bag so that you have a dustless system when you have it hooked up. If there’s too much dust pick up, be sure to wear a mask and clean any debris with a dust mop. That’s about all I’ve got for you regarding bamboo floor care. Comment below if you have any questions.
